This Week’s Tasting: Sonoma Wines & Cheese Showcase Comes to Chico!

March 4,5 & 6  Thursday, Friday and Saturday  4-7pm

Sonoma County is one of America’s most exciting wine & cheese regions and one of the most sprawling, with craggy ocean cliffs, redwood forests and valley ranch lands. Vineyards and dairies are found all over this far-flung landscape and produce a wildly diverse group of wines and cheeses. We will pour the outrageously good Domaine Carneros Sparkling Wine  which recently received 90 points, Wine Spectator.  Plus try the elegant 2005 Chalk Hill Estate Chardonnay from the Russian River Valley that is refreshing, intense and vibrant, with a mix of spice, floral, fig and apricot flavors that are rich, deep and complex, ending with a long, persistent finish. Full-bodied and rich with a long, lingering finish, it earned 90 points, Wine Spectator! The Landmark Steel Plow Syrah and the D’Argenzio Pinot Noir of the Sonoma Coast will also be showcased along with the Valdez Quinn Vineyard Dry Creek Zinfandel. There’s a bounty of other Sonoma wine for you to try so check it out! The cheese plate being served will include Bellwether Farms Crescenza,  Mt. Tam from Cowgirl Creamery , Vella Dry Jack,  Point Reyes Blue and other tasty Sonoma Cheeses. It’s a true showcase of some of the best wines and cheeses Sonoma has to offer.
