A Midsummer Night’s Dream of a Celebration!
We’ve been open 12 years so it’s the perfect time to have a Mid-Summer Night’s Dream of a Celebration Tasting! You’ll find 12 wines plus a special cheese selection in the wine bar this week as we showcase what we’re all about!. Here’s what we’re pouring:
- Heidsieck French Brut Champagne
- Hansell Sauvignon Blanc-Russian River
- Four Graces Pinot Blanc-Williamette Valley
- Treana White (Viognier-Marsanne Blend)-Calif. Central Coast
- Sbragia Gamble Ranch Chardonnay-Sonoma (93 points, Wine Spectator!)
- Buoncristiana Rosato- dry rosé of Syrah-Napa
- Duckhorn’s Migration Pinot Noir- Anderson Valley
- Ripassa by Zenato-Italy
- Kilikanoon Grenache “Prodigal” - Australia
- Runquist “Z” Zinfandel- Sierra Foothills
- 2007 Round Pond Cabernet Sauvignon-Napa (94 points, Wine Spectator!!)
- Barsac Sauternes-France
Artisan cheese to enhance the wine includes Smokey Blue from Rogue Creamery in Oregon, the just released Pierce Point from Cowgirl Creamery, Humboldt Fog from Cypress Grove, Fontina, French Brie enhanced with pears, and a tasty sweet treat for the sauternes. It will also be the preview of the C.C Spread…a custom made treat using lupini beans, the little flat garbanzo-like beans in our French olive mix! ( a suggested use for the beans from some of our loyal customers!) “Come in this week and celebrate with us & treat yourself to one of the most outstanding tastings of the year! A weekend of Spanish Wines, Cheese and Tapas awaits you as we take a tour of Spain next week! Always a popular tasting it will be a standout again this year for sure. Some of the wines & their regions that are being poured include:
- Vall Llach Embruix 2005 from the Priorat (cab, syrah, grenache)
- Beronia Reserve 2005 from Rioja Tempranillo 90% with Mazuelo and Graciano
- Codorniu Cava
- Legaris Crianza 2005 from Ribera del Duero
- Numanthia Termes 2008 from Toro
- La Cana Albarino from Rias Baixas
- Txomin Etxaniz Txakoli 2007 from Txakoli de Guetaria (sprizty and refreshing)
- Castano Rosado of Monastrell 2008 from Yecla
The Spanish cheese selection includes, Garrotxa, Tetilla, smokey Idizabal and more. Plus several mouthwatering tapas and Spanish olives will tempt your tastebuds and round out the Spanish experience.
